"Co-fermented with 6% Viognier, the 2009 Shiraz Viognier is deep garnet-purple in color with pronounced aromas of warm blackberries, blackcurrant, white pepper, chocolate, licorice, grilled duck and a whiff of tarry reduction poking through. The reduction easily gives way to the slightest suggestion of peachy Viognier with some swirling. Medium-bodied, elegant though with a pleasant richness from flavor concentration, this wine has a solid structure of crisp acid and medium-firm fine-grained tannins, finishing long and purely fruited."
