Interesting how much game meat, exotic-smoky spice and savouriness enters this wine, though it’s also distinguished for its ripeness, sweet fruit profile, dusty tannins and quiet opulence. It really feels like Yalumba and Clonakilla have become easy lovers here – savouriness, silkiness, the bolshy ripe fruit, concentration. Seamless flow, a little edgy and skittish through the finish. "In 2020 we suffered the catastrophe of losing our entire crop to smoke taint, a consequence of severe drought and the worst bushfire season in living memory. Generous friends came to our rescue with clean fruit from regions outside New South Wales.
