'Impossible not to love' - JancisRobinson.com!
One-third each of Syrah, Alicante Bouschet (planted 1939) and Cabernet Franc. No oak. Meaty tangy nose. Unexpectedly sweet intense fruit with a touch of raspberry tea, entwined with slim, lightly wiry tannins that remind me of the wire that I use to tie back my climbing roses. Perhaps it's because there is also a rose-petal leafy back note on the wine as well. Completely charming and disarming, great fun, impossible to not love, and reminds me not a little of the Bergasse brothers who make it.
