"Pale gold coloured, the 2009 D'Arche gives up compelling scents of pineapple upside down cake, applesauce, peach preserves and almond croissant with a touch of lemon curd. Elegant and understated in the mouth, the palate provides lovely purity and restraint with a wonderfully harmonious finish." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate
"The 2009 d'Arche has a mellow, refined bouquet with white flower scents infusing the dried honey, leesy and Golden Delicious aromas. The palate is well balanced with a viscous entry, a fine bead of acidity, quite pure and tensile with a penetrating and lively finish. Excellent." - Neal Martin, Vinous.
"Founded in 1580 by Henry d’Arche it is one of the oldest estates in the Sauternes appellation. Currently they have 30 hectares of vines, primarily Semillon.
90% Semillon, 10% Sauvignon Blanc. The nose reveals orange peel and jam aromas, fruity and airy on the palate. This powerful, mineral vintage is beautifully concentrated and wonderfully well-balanced. On the palate, it offers up honey, crystallised orange and quince notes with a touch of almond. A beautifully lingering finish with toasted touches." - Winery
