Difficult schmifficult vintage. This wine is of the season but more so, it's of the vineyard. It's all meaty, smoky perfume, sappy cherries, twigs and cranberries. Its structure comes as much from acidity as it does from tannin. Its length is confident, swaggering, despite the general lightness. It's a wine defined by what it's not. It's not sweet, it's not jaded or commercial. It's energetic and savoury and accordingly, is a joy to drink."
