Gourmet Traveller 95 points!
"The 2011 vintage of Burn Cottage Vineyard Pinot Noir marks the third release, and just as the 2010 was very different to the 2009, this is another interpretation again. What doesn't change and in fact seems to evolve and become even more convincing over time is the very real impression that this vineyard site and the winemaking that the BCV team input sees this edge closer and closer to words like 'ethereal'. Possibly a shade lighter in colour than the '10 the 2011 wine is at this stage and as you would expect tighter, less giving and more brooding than the Cashburn but never sacrificing finesse, elegance and delicate concentration. Decanted and allowed to evolve, layer after layer of complexities will emerge."
Burn Cottage
Gourmet Traveller 95 points!2011 was generally a light vintage for Central Otago pinot. However, Burn Cottage has managed to produce a wine of charm and considerable finesse with underlying power and complexity. Seductive with purity and grace.
