"The articulation of this exalted site in such deft hands elevates Bondar into the top-tier. Limited to the likes of Thistledown, Yangarra, Samson Tall and Beckett. Now, these guys. Planted in 1970. Hand picked. Ambient ferment with 20% bunches in ceramic eggs and seasoned French wood. Rosehip, cranberry, pomegranate and wild strawberry. Bracing freshness and a tactile web of diaphanous tannins, reining in any excess. Almost alpine herbal. Granular acidity tows it long. Stunning." - Wine Companion
"Spicy, perfumed, hazelnut and orange zest, smoky meaty edges, red fruits and dried herbs. It’s medium-bodied, fine and firm tannin grip with spiced strawberry and pomegranate, fresh and alive, kind of succulent, yet quite serious. It pulses with energy and runs long and savoury, so much interest, detail, and complexity here. Outstanding. I’d say it’s the best Grenache I’ve tasted from Bondar." - Wine Front
"Sourced from our tiny 0.7ha block of 48-year old Grenache vines, planted in sand on our Rayner Vineyard in McLaren Vale. The lowest-yielding vines were hand-picked, and natural fermentation took place - some in a ceramic egg on skins for 120 days, some with whole bunches and some with whole berries. All done to add layers of complexity to the wine, and to build structure around the beautifully aromatic and pure Grenache fruit." - Bondar
