Wine List/Blain Soeur Frere

[SOLD-OUT] Blain Soeur Frere Cote de Brouilly 2019

MONT BROILLY'S GRANITIC SOILS BRING A DISTINCT MINERALITY TO THIS REFINED CRU BEAUJOLAIS

"Marc-Antonin describes this wine as “linear with a straight structure.”  Northwest-facing vines bring tension to the wine while the meager soil provides a mineral backbone. The wine shows aromas and flavors of ripe red fruits such as strawberries and cherries, while a percentage of whole clusters add to the wine’s complexity.

One sister. One brother. We both grew up in Chassagne-Montrachet in the heart of the Côte d'Or vineyards; we decided to take over as a family an old vineyard on the hills of Mont Brouilly with one dream: give a voice to this unique granite terroir.

Our vines are more than 50 years old and give wine classified as AOP (Protected Origin) Brouilly, then Côte de Brouilly uphill on the western side of this ancient volcano.

The vines tell very accurately, with their restricted yields, the story of their terroir and their localisations at different height above the sea.  Mont Brouilly offers granitic soils, rich in blue stone. This unique granite gives the wine a mineral, strong and animal character. The eponymous cuvee was born."Blain Soeur and Frere
