Wine List/Bindi

[SOLD-OUT] Bindi Composition Chardonnay 2010

Jeremy Oliver 92 points!
"Long, supple and Macon-like, with a waxy, floral bouquet of stonefruit, clove-like oak and white flowers backed by nuances of cashew and nutmeg. Measured, elegant and chalky, its tangy palate of citrusy flavour steadily builds towards a crescendo of fruit, minerality and reductive complexity."
Jeremy Oliver, Wine Annual 2012
Nick Stock 93 points!
"A restrained white stone fruit style that conjures up images of Chablis. The palate has a smooth sense of contained power. Beautiful balance."
Nick Stock, Wine 100, June 2011
Wine Front 92+ Points!
"From Bindi's 1988 plantings on the slopes of mighty Mount Gisborne, the fruit is selected from the middle and lower sections of the site, where the quartz rich soils are not quite as compacted and inflected, but still pretty to look at it for geologists. Winemaking is pretty simple, pick, de-stem, SO2, barrel, lees for nine months, part malo, sterile filter, bottle. Bright and fresh aromatics with lemon grass, wild flowers, wet pavement and intensity of stone fruit and citrus. Power-packed palate with concentration and vitality " acidity offers backbone and drive. Has firm peach and nectarine fruit sweetness, then courses to the finish with thick, steely minerality. Texture, but not blown out."
