"The Block 8 is from young vines, planted in 2016. I was super-impressed with the pinots from such very young vines. At length, having exhausted myself tasting and re-tasting, I just had to come to the conclusion that these are all stunning wines, and we shouldn’t read too much into the price differentials. Bright, deep-ish colour with aromas of dried flowers, rich and fleshy on the palate, intense and very deep, backed with abundant fine grained tannins that add a grip and a drying sensation to the follow-through. A trace of gaminess starting to show. A quite powerful and structured pinot." - Huon Hooke

 

 

"Block 8 raises the bar in terms of fruit depth and complexity. It is a very special site that has been maximised with seven clones and a “Crazy” area (for eight sections) and intensive farming. The fruit is very powerful and yet finely compressed. Flamboyant fruit melds with the essence of earth and spice. It's quite an interplay. The palate is precise, tight, lavish, driven and very, very long. The flesh on the bones is succulent but this wine really needs a decade to fly to its best heights." - Bindi Wines
