"#1 of 20 Pinot Noirs tasted from the Macedon Ranges. Bright light-mid red-purple colour. Spicy cherry aromas, dried flowers and a trace of almond-meal, lots of detail here; the palate is light and savoury, with a layer of very gentle drying tannins, rich and full on the tongue, with lasting flavour augmented by perfectly judged tannins, all in fine harmony. The textural refinement is outstanding. A delicate Pinot of great perfume." - Huon Hooke

 

"Cherry, dried flowers and roses, almond, hazelnut and spice, cedar and mint. It’s medium-bodied, lovely mouth-perfume, and so much of that, a little sap, raspberry and red cherry, quite juicy, tannin is succulent yet firm, with a graphite character, quiet earthiness, and just so composed and long. "The 2021 is very pure in red berries, particularly vivid raspberry, cherry and wild strawberry. There are, as usual, darker berry and spice notes. It's a floral wine with darker, more mineral elements. Classic Block 5! It is both rich and vibrant with tremendous freshness, strength, density and length.
