"30% pinot noir, 30% chardonnay and 40% pinot meunier. Base wine 2015, reserve wines 55%, on lees for 30 months before disgorgement in October ’17. Fuses strawberries/rose petals ex pinot meunier at one extreme, citrus and chalky/sea shell acidity ex chardonnay on the other side. Has lovely line, length and balance."

"This is where it's at " Brut Reserve is one of champagnes' most precise house wines. Seventy percent of the production of the house is tied up in this wine, and it sets the standard from which every other cuvee follows. You'd never guess that pinot meunier leads (forty percent), pinot noir second (thirty-five percent) and just twenty-five percent of chardonnay because there's nothing at all 'red' about its profile. A beautiful bouquet of lemon blossom and lemon meringue fruit is more floral than the Extra Brut (8g/L of sweetness in the liqueur brings this out) while the palate is all about pears and summer white fruits. It all melds seamlessly with reserve wines (twenty percent), finishing with great poise and fine minerality. Brut Reserve is always my pick of the house NVs!"
