"Made only in exceptional years, we've been blessed to see another Thomson Family Shiraz so soon after last year's 99-Point effort. This release comes from the moderate and calm 2015 vintage and although the quality was high, yields were down, meaning this already rare Shiraz is in hen's teeth category this year. This very special wine is made from 15 rows of the original 1868 Shiraz plantings. To drink this wine is a truly remarkable experience, not just for its historical value but also due to the sheer pleasure it generously offers.

A wine like no other. Concentrated and brooding, this is such an exemplary reflection of climate and site, bringing a complex array of aromas and flavours. Beginning with dark fruit, then bringing dried herb, chocolate, savoury and sweet spice, meaty, earthy and savoury flavours, creating a truly remarkable wine. Powerful, but restrained, this builds upon that fascinating minerality you see in Best's high end wines and delivers it all on a textural and velvety long palate."
