"Pinot Meunier from Best’s. Here blended with Pinot Noir, and a whole bunch component. This is made from Best’s younger vine pinot meunier plantings (as in, planted in 1970), with help from Best’s Old Clone Pinot Noir.

Light to look at and indeed it’s made in a refreshing, delicate, Bone China style. It’s part of its charm. It tastes of cranberry and red cherry, spices, rose oil, macerated plums and twigs. Musk too. A bit this way, a bit that. It’s firm-ish through the finish, just. It’s dry. It’s quite delightful; its best years are ahead of it."

"Best's must be the only Australian winery that can differentiate between vines they planted in 1970 as 'young' and their 'old vines', which date way back to 1868. Their 2017 Pinot Meunier Pinot Noir is based on those 'young' 1970 meunier plantings with a splash of pinot noir to add extra verve. The colour is a pale magenta; the buoyant perfumes are of strawberry, recurrent and cherries with a fine and graceful palate, plus an energetic finish"
