"The Bin 1 from 2011 won the Jimmy Watson Trophy. The 2012 vintage is regarded generally as a better year.

This is the kind of shiraz I like to see from Best's. Juicy with acidity, medium-bodied, naturally complex, flush with dark cherry fruit, modestly spiced. It's the wine you think of when you think of Best's Shiraz. And it's a very good version of it, perhaps even tip top. Nothing out of place, able to be enjoyed young but cellarworthy. Bay leaf and reductive notes just add to the show. Excellent wine, excellent value."

"All the allure and elegant intrigue of Best's shiraz at an affordable price. A beautifully fragrant bouquet of violets and black pepper is set against a deep black plum background. Impressively intense and seamless black plum and black cherry fruit is backed with mixed spice, liquorice and dark chocolate French oak. Fine-grained, well-textured tannins carry finesse and firm confidence through a long and even finish long."
Tyson Stelzer, Wine Taste Weekly
"Fresh plum, blueberry/blackberry fruits and spice dominate with fine rolling tannins that support and lengthen the flavours. A rich yet savoury finish makes this an ideal food wine."
