"A floral aspect, like jasmine or apricot jam, makes a positive contribution to the fragrance of this wine. It's regionally spiced with good coffee/vanilla oak and rich juicy blackberry fruit. Medium to full bodied, squeaky clean, full of firm grainy tannins that run dry onto the long finish. There's a meaty savoury flavour too, along with liquorice as it opens up. Terrific wine."

"A classical, stable, long-term Great Western shiraz whose dusty, peppery expression of dark berries, cassis and plum-like fruit is tightly knit with cedar/chocolate/vanilla oak and framed by fine-grained, elegant and silky-smooth tannins. It's quite sneezy, with a dusty violet-like perfumed that reveals undertones of ironstone, mint and minerals. It's penetrative and sweet-fruited, supple and focused, and culminates in a lingering, spicy, peppery and savoury mineral finish."

"Revealing a very deep garnet-black color, the 2006 Great Western Bin 0 Shiraz gives pronounced earth and spice notes of loam, tar, underbrush, anise, cinnamon stick and nutmeg over concentrated blackberry essence and espresso. The medium to full bodied palate gives a nice backbone of crisp acid and medium-firm, fine tannins with a good amount of earthy / spicy fruit to provide ample padding. The finish is long with lingering anise and espresso notes. This wine is beginning to drink well now, yet has the capacity to develop until 2018+."
