[SOLD-OUT] Benjamin Leroux Nuits-St-Georges Premier Cru Aux Boudots 2020

"Leroux started with Aux Boudots in 2015. His 0.3-hectare parcel lies on the upper slope, on rocky soil, where the vines squeeze out particularly small bunches of Pinot Fin. As a result, this parcel can often handle a large percentage of whole bunches. Boudots is often referred to as the most Vosne-like of Nuits-St-Georges wines, though Benjamin begs to differ. Even though his parcel in Vosne-Romanee Aux Malconsorts is only a stone’s throw away, Leroux says the wines behave completely different in the cellar. This sentiment is echoed by Bize Leroy (who farms over one hectare in Boudots) in Jasper Morris’ Inside Burgundy. Indeed, Leroux regards Boudots as home to “the true character of Nuit-St-Georges”. So there! Just three barrels of the 2020 were made. As to the wine, Ben describes it as ‘a killer’. Enough said." - Bibendum
