“Issan is 7-8 acre close planted vineyard. Five acres of it planted to Pinot Noir. It’s about 15km from the winery. Dark cherry, black tobacco, flowers, light spice. Deep brooding wine, thick tannin, some warmth from alcohol, intense tobacco and dark cherry, bitter herbs and a long finish – lipstick and cosmetic again as a perfume to close. Some will hate this wine, some will love. It does its own thing, and likely doesn’t give a toss what you think. If there ever was a wine that could flip you the bird, then this is it. ”
