"Following in the footsteps of some fantastic recent vintages, this 2009 Bass Phillip Gamay is probably closer to the Beaujolais-Villages classe (or even Cru-classe) than most of the Beaujolais (Gamay) wines we are familiar with in Australia. In fact, the fruit is sourced from Bass Phillip's 'Village' vineyard in Leongatha, South Gippsland, and is made in classic Phillip Jones style " bio-dynamic and unfiltered! Whilst Gamay's characteristic fruit-vibrancy is well and truly displayed, this wine offers a slightly fuller body and a greater complexity on the palate. Bright berry-fruits, violet and spice aromas lead you on to a fruit-rich, slightly herbaceous and textural palate experience. To be enjoyed in its youth or with some age."
