Campbell Mattinson 93+ Points!
"Tobacco and herb notes from cabernet; stalk and dried spice from pinot noir. This is highly expressive red wine, light and acidic yet flamed with scent and all-round personality. Truffle notes are at home here. If there were any such thing as Burgundian cabernet, this would be it. It's a savoury, spicy, truffle riot."
Campbell Mattinson - The Wine Front, May 2014
"In keeping with the philosophy behind Douglas, which is to produce a red wine blend that genuinely reflects Bannockburn, changes in the wine style will occur because no two vintages are ever the same. Whilst the drought-affected 2009 produced an intense, rich Shiraz-dominant style, the 2010 has produced a more elegant and accessible wine reflecting a mild, near-perfect growing season. Having said that, the 2010 will still benefit greatly from a good decant to open up ( it is 47% cabernet after all). A complex nose, savoury, earthy, red and black fruits, nutmeg and tobacco. The palate is refined and silky textured with flavours that evolve and change constantly. There is good line and length and good fruit presence. It will get better and better in the cellar and the glass."
