Campbell Mattinson 92 points!
Campbell Mattinson 92 points!New wine to the Bannockburn range. Made from nine-year-old vines. Clones MV6, 114 and 115. 40 percent whole bunches. No new oak. Winemaker Michael Glover describes it as "mini Bannockburn". It's the wine Bannockburn had to have.
It's a wonderful drink. Spicy, herbal, sappy, fleshed out with sour cherry and rhubarb and complexed by meaty, clovey notes. Fragrance aplenty. If you like Bannockburn pinot noir in general, you will love drinking this. It should age but it may well be at its best as a youngster. It sure does take you on a ride now. Terrific drinking, and value.
