"Another great release for Ashton Hills, defining the pinnacle for South Australian pinot noir, this is a coherent, effortless, seamless assemblage that showcases beautifully defined cherry and berry fruits, dissolving 50% new oak in a finely textured and refined style. Impressive depth of black cherry and strawberry fruit contrasts crunchy rose hip definition and layers of mixed spice. The impeccable integration of fine, silky tannins and finely poised acidity is something to behold."
Tyson Stelzer, Wine Taste Weekly, 4th July 2014.

"The world of Australian pinot noir has been turned on its head over the past decade or so, in terms of who are the sought-after producers. Certainly there is more competition than ever and quality is generally through the roof. Ashton Hills was outstanding way back in the 1990s, has never had a lull, and here, in 2014, it's pretty safe to say that it still is.

This is a gorgeous pinot noir. It's in the same mould as the Estate release from the same year, with an extra degree of concentration. It's full of tangy sweet-sour character with myriad herb and spice notes parading across. Sexy oak plays an unabashed role but no more than is appropriate to the depth and quality of the fruit. Sinewy, spicy, sizzling tannin draws out through the finish. Top notch at every turn."
