Wine Front 94 Points!
Known for being dark and brooding on its’ own, our Mataro bucks the trend with complex black fruit aromas and flavours as well as meatiness and spice on the palate. Food friendly while still fantastically drinkable. Evolves in your glass. Good structure and length. Carries our signature savoury finish.
Deep ruby red with blackberries, new leather, earth after rain. Back of the spice cupboard. Complex and spicy. A medium bodied palate with supple tannins support the flavours. Handfuls of dried herb characters round out the savoury flavours which leads to a juicy mouthfeel with a softly drying finish

Mataro from Blewitt Springs. 130 six packs produced. There’s a distinct aniseed perfume here, and plenty of exotic spice, honey and dried herbs, red and black berries. Medium bodied, subtle earthiness, beautiful soft suede-like tannin, clean acidity, and that kick of fennel or star anise on the finish again. Didn’t take long too form an opinion on this wine.
