"The M le Mauzac Reserve is a Blanquette de Limoux from this highly award Estate. For seven generations, Antech has been leading the way in Limoux, the region which, according to legend, produced sparkling wine ahead of Champagne. To be named as Blanquette, it must honour the local Mauzac grape and be made in the traditional method. This is a variety Francoise Antech has been fighting to keep in the spotlight.
Almost entirely Mauzac, this Reserve has small additions of Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc, but its the use of its hero local grape which defines this as the quintessential taste of Limoux. Dry (Extra-Brut) and less acidic than Champagne, it has flavours of quince, pear and apple, candied citrus and sugared almonds. A light, rounded and fine-moussed wine with an unexpected depth which pulls you right in.
