"Blend of old and young vineyards (30% of the blend comes from vines over 70 y.o., the rest are now around
12 y.o.). Full blend is: Touriga Nacional 35%, Touriga Franca 20%, with Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Tinta Barroca and Sousão. 80% stainless, 20% aged 1 year in 1-2 y.o. French oak. Blue fruits and smokey blue schist aromatics meld perfectly to smell simply and definitively 'Douro'! There are lovely cake-bake aromatics " think Clafoutis, along with the stone soil-berry amalgam. The palate, too is lead by a stoney austerity, quite the opposite of any 'Porty' referent.
Juicy, meaty, lotsa blue florals, a hint of ashy Douro soil and very mineral. This will unpack and evolve very well. Looks very good."
