"Setelled and resolved, this has flecks of leafy briary bush aromas amid liquorice, cassis and ripened blue fruits. The palate's laid out on smooth tannins with beautifully rounded shape, balanced and even, cassis and red/purple fruit flavours, finishing lithe and elegant."

"It's the first Langi Cabernet since 2001. It was cropped at less than one tonne to the acre and was matured in all French oak, 60 percent of it new and the rest only one year old. The fruit flavours have soaked up most of that oak though, I can tell you. This wine is 15 percent alcohol. It's a good drop. It's grainy and spicy, curranty and chocolatey. It tastes like a Grampians shiraz except with an extra degree of cabernet 'dustiness', though its strident, biting tannins sure put cabernet's footprint firmly on it. There's a brineym oystery character to this wine too and a lingering toastiness through the finish. Carries the alcohol with ease. It needs more time in bottle though " it's easy to see why its release has been held back."
