[SOLD-OUT] Domaine de Marcoux Chateauneuf-Du-Pape 2018

WINE ADVOCATE 95 POINTS!

ONE OF CHATEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE'S TRUE ARTISAN WINEMAKERS. THIS IS MADE FROM BIODYNAMICALLY FARMED VINEYARDS DOTTED ACROSS THE APPELLATION. THIS IS A BOLD WINE, BUT WITH AN ELEGANT EDGE, SUPERB NOW BUT WILL AGE 15 YEARS WITH EASE.

72% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre and 3% Cinsault--so a little less Grenache and a little more Syrah than usual.

"While there was no Vieilles Vignes bottling produced this vintage, the 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape stands out for its remarkable perfume of garrigue and spice, which epitomizes the complexity attainable solely from grapes in this remarkable appellation. Tendrils of dried herbs entwine raspberries and black cherries, accented by hints of Asian five-spice powder. It's medium to full-bodied and delicately dusty in feel, generous yet softly structured, with a lingering, elegant finish. Drink this beauty over the next decade or so." - Wine Advocate

"This is an exuberant and accessible wine from one of the region's great artisans. The notes below really capture the deliciousness already on offer: it's juicy and seductive with surprising finesse and freshness and loads of garrigue, tapenade, ripe blackberry, redcurrant and violet characters and a smoky, salty close. So drinkable already, it is obviously all the better (deeper, more complex) for having all that old-vine fruit included. It will undoubtedly age well over 10-15 years, but the good news is that it will drink well young (from now in fact)." - Bibendum
