[SOLD-OUT] Clos La Coutale Cahors 2019

BLACKBERRY AND PLUM FLAVOURS COME WITH TRADEMARK REGIONAL EARTHINESS

“Clos La Coutale consists of Malbec (80%) and Merlot (20%). The average yield of 45hl allows a good maturity and a regular quality over the years. The vinification is done in thermoregulated vats, regular punching down allows a good extraction of aromas and fruit. Clos La Coutale is then matured in barrels and wooden casks for one year in order to obtain a good balance between tannins and fruit.” - Clos La Coutale

"Take Clos La Coutale’s Cahors, with its reputation that dates back six generations of making drinkable, affordable, reliable, everyday rouge. Philippe Bernède, who has headed the estate for more than three decades, provides a red that is full of expression and fruit when poured into the glass (thank you, Merlot), with darker spice, licorice, and cassis lurking behind (hats off to you, Malbec). Young, it is juicy, smooth, and fresh. As it ages, keep an eye out for hints of some of the region’s more famous goods (truffle)." - Kermit Lynch
