"Heathcote sangiovese. From the Galli Vineyard. Destemmed into open pots, 10 days on skins, pressed into oak (French, 12% new) and aged on lees for 12 months. Bottled unfined and un filtered.

Very dry. Too dry really but it certainly lends the wine a savoury appeal. Food is necessary. Red cherry, cranberry, spice and earth notes before dry, sandy tannin takes over. Both the fruit and the acidity have an attractive energy to them here."
