[SOLD-OUT] Alois Lageder Riff Pinot Grigio 2020

QUALITY PINOT GRIGIO FROM THE ALTE ADIGE REGION OF ITALY - FRESH AND BRIGHT

"The 2020 Riff Pinot Grigio is fresh, bright, and smooth on the palate; This wine exhibits pleasing aromas and flavors of sandalwood, dried earth, and ripe citrus." - Wilfred Wong

"As one of the iconic wine producers of Alto Adige, Alois Lageder and his family have developed very close relationships with many of the other winegrowers of the province and beyond. The Riff project is both an auxiliary brand for Lageder and an outlet for the grapes of an extended network of small, quality-driven farmers outside Alto Adige. The Riff Pinot Grigio is an inexpensive but well-made négociant wine that is sourced, blended, bottled, and marketed by the acclaimed Alois Lageder winery.

The wines for the Riff Pinot Grigio are blended from selected vineyards in the foothills of the northeastern Italian Alps, which influence the climate and bless the region with prized alluvial limestone soils. The high limestone content is the geological result of coral reefs and fossils deposited at the bottom of an ancient sea that covered the region millions of years ago. The name Riff (German for "reef") refers to the Alps' origin in that sea." - Winery
